The salt mills

Nature trail, to enjoy on mountain bike or by foot, that follows the meandering Cardener riverbed as it forges its way through the township of Cardona and the area of La Coromina, where salt and human activity have shaped a remarkable land. Beside the waters of the Cardener, the history of the stones of the three old water mills where Cardona salt was milled can be traced. All of this is like reliving the past: living tales of counts and knights, legends of giants, thwarted love affairs between Saracens and princesses, and music and troubadours. Light, aromas, colours, water, stone, life…, a thoroughly surprising place!
